The canopy problem
Most of Montecito sits under old oak and sycamore. A drone launched in the wrong spot gives you a beautiful photograph of a tree, and a house behind it. Flying these lots well is about finding the gap and the angle that clears the canopy while still reading the roofline and the ocean beyond it, which is a matter of knowing the street rather than knowing the aircraft.
Privacy and the front elevation
A lot of the best houses here are deliberately invisible from the road, which means the classic front-elevation hero shot either does not exist or gives away nothing.
